Northern Region Highlights & Activities



Oldoinya Gol & Eastern Plains, Ndutu Woodlands – Beautiful Acacia forests
Mount Lemagaraut – Open grasslands with forested gorges.
Mount Oldeani – Fine rock formations, Eyasi Escarpment & Eyasi Basin – Tanzania’s largest soda lake & home to the Hadzabe tribe.
Lake Natron – Awesome rift cliffs & the beautiful gorge of Engaresero River.
Olkarien Gorge – active volcano & arduous but spectacular hike.
Oldoinyo Lengai – Another active volcano. It is a hot and arduous climb up to its menacing crater.
Empakaai Crater – A pristine forested crater with no roads or human inhabitats. From here hike down the East rim to the crater floor.
Olmoti Crater - The spectacular Munge Water Falls, Mount Lolmalasin – Ngorongoro Conservation Area’s highest peak offering stunning arial views for miles….and miles….and miles!
The Rift Wall – A steep and exciting trail leads from the lush oasis of Selela up a sheer cliff.
